Acting coaching
Acting coaching:
I trained at top UK drama schools, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Rose Bruford College, and have since worked regularly in stage, screen, radio and voiceover. I know firsthand the pressures of preparing for an audition or performance, and how self-doubt, external circumstances and nerves can creep into your performance, or leave you feeling stuck and unequipped.
Acting Coaching and Audition Preparation:
Acting can often feel like a leap of faith, and performing in front of others can be hugely vulnerable. Whether it be an audition or role you have already landed, even the most seasoned actors can experience self-doubt, frustration and performance anxiety. At these times, no matter how many accolades we have to our name, we can find ourselves questioning our own talent and ability, or simply seeking a little guidance to help bring out the performance we know is inside of us.
For experienced performers, I can help you re-ground and centre yourself when these emotions arise. Together, we can work through the piece you need to prepare, stripping back what is getting in the way and working on what is important; connection.
For those newer to acting or seeking to enter the craft for the first time, we can work through the fundamentals of voice and movement, and help you learn how to inhabit a character truthfully in that moment and respond to your fellow actors.
Drama School Auditions
Having both auditioned for drama school myself and been part of the audition panel, I know what can make a candidate stand out – both positively and negatively. Auditioning for drama school can seem scary, but ultimately you are auditioning them as much as they are auditioning you, figuring out if their course and school is the right fit for you. Together, we can work through your pieces, find which speech plays to your strengths, work through what the panel may ask you and focus on gaining that key connection with your character. Nerves are natural, but we can you recognise and soothe these feelings, and channel natural, nervous energy positively into your performance.
